SPICE will name its funders and supporters here. Nothing is published on this page until the source of the funding has been confirmed in writing.

Transparency

Name who pays for the work.

Research on major projects is only as good as the trust it earns. SPICE will therefore state publicly which organization founded the centre, along with any later research funding, as soon as each source has been verified.

Founding funding

Funder not confirmed

The organization that funded the centre at its creation is not yet confirmed. It will be named here, along with the nature of the support, once confirmation is received from the centre.

Unconfirmed The founding funder is unconfirmed. NSERC was suggested during the review meeting but was never verified, so it is not stated on this page. A claim of a $3M founding endowment was removed from the About page for the same reason. Needed: the funder's legal name and written confirmation of the arrangement before anything is published here.

Affiliation

University of Alberta

SPICE is affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. That affiliation is settled, and it is separate from the question of funding, which is still to be confirmed.
